Abstract
Polygons identifying settlement areas of historical claims in relation to the Waikato River. Polygon identified during the Waikato River Settlement Claim and included in the Waikato River Act. Created by the Crown. Shown on Survey Office (SO) plan 409144 showing areas “A” and “B”. Catchment area A is Port Waikato to Karapiro Dam excluding the Waipa River upstream of the confluence with the Puniu River. The data was sourced from Waikato Regional Council (Iwi - Waikato River Co-Management Areas) and is saved in its entirety., refer to Iwi Co-management Areas. Waikato River Catchment is a view of the intersection between the Co Management Area and the Waikato District Territorial Authority.
Purpose
Identifies areas co-managed by Council and Iwi to ensure the restoration, health and protection of the Waikato River. Relates to the implementation of the District Plan under the Resource Management Act (1991), and may be subject to various limitations and conditions. These features are a spatial representation of the policies and objectives of the Waikato District Plan and indicate where policies, overlays and District Plan rules apply.
