Identified areas associated with geotechnical instability these areas are associated with specific rules. However, they do not identify all areas of unstable land. These areas have been identified and associated with ….Raglan. Engineering Geological Feasibility Assessment prepared by Mark T Mitchell dated 23 August 2005 located in file 67 02 42. Limitations of the dataset are unknown, further information may be outlined in the report for technical specification.

This relates to land located above shallow underground mines in the Huntly East area where subsidence occurred in around 1977 and where there is still an unconfirmed risk of further subsidence. The boundaries were defined by Coalcorp and the Department of Survey and Land Information and at the time had identified an area of limited risk and an area of higher risk. The area of high risk was derived from the Crown’s Huntly East Land Subsidence Policy 1993–94. The high risk and limited risk areas were combined as one layer in the 2004 DPR. Areas have been identified in Subsidence reports and in accordance with mining activity.

This layer is a subset of the Huntly flood risk area layer but has site specific issues relating to the susceptibility to flooding and ponding.

Data acquisition information maybe captured in the Huntly Flood Management Plan file 65 11 02.
The Huntly South Ponding Area progress report and associated information is held in subject file 65 11 02 ‘Huntly Flood Management Plan’. This file contains flood information across all of Huntly.
Huntly South Ponding Areas and Huntly South Industrial Subdivision Ponding Levels Reports contained in Policy Committee Agenda dated 13 Oct 1997 (held in reference library in Records).
Technical report prepared by Environmental Engineer assessing the hydrological impact of section filling in Huntly South Industrial Subdivision also held in records reference library.

This line shows the limit of flooding from the Whangamarino Wetland and Lake Waikare in Te Kauwhata. This is a site specific layer derived from the Te Kauwhata storm water catchment management plan prepared be Beca Infrastructure Ltd (July 2009). This is a dataset derived from hydrological model. The inputs variables and assumptions for the model are not know. These data are not scheduled for review.

River stability policy areas are located in numerous places along the Waikato River from the southern boundary of the district to Ngaruawahia. The layer identifies areas along the river bank that are considered unstable and potentially subject to erosion. This layer was introduced by way of an Environment Waikato submission (points 108-110) and first featured in the 2006 version of the Proposed District Plan. Submissions raised the following matters: Lowering riverbed levels and riverbank instability along the Waikato and Waipa rivers indicates the need for development setbacks; Amend rules 21.52.1, 25.59.1, 24.46.1 and 22.45.1 building setbacks along the Waikato and Waipa rivers to ensure bank instability is avoided. This is a dataset that was produced through the District Plan submissions process and will not have any known update cycle. Original Source data may possibly be available from Waikato Regional Council.
